Four things stand between you and the board: a wallet, some SOL, some $MOB, and the sense to check an address before you paste it. This page is all four, in order.
1. Get a wallet
You need a Solana wallet. Phantom is the one the Taofather tests against, on a desk and on a phone. Solflare and Backpack should work too, and anything else that speaks the wallet standard will show up when you connect.
Install it, write the recovery phrase down on paper, and keep it off every machine you own. Nobody from the Family will ever ask you for it. Anybody who does is not from the Family.
2. Put SOL in it
SOL is what Solana runs on, and every move you make on the chain costs a fraction of it. You need some to swap with and a little left over for the transactions themselves. Buy it on any exchange that sells it and send it to your wallet's address.
You do not need much. A few dollars of SOL covers a great many transactions.
3. Swap it for $MOB
$MOB is what the board runs on. Your size is measured in it, your fee is paid in it, and the pot is paid out in it.
Use a swap that routes across Solana. Jupiter, with $MOB already loaded, is the shortest way in. Check the address on that page against the one below before you agree to anything: a link can be changed and the address cannot. Searching by name rather than checking the address is how people end up holding something else.

- The pool
- HazzD2TmBbqQmnBWqxRfZ98Zoe5so28T1D7FAcz8Ysqa$MOB trades against TAO, not against the dollar. Liquidity locked permanently.
Two things the swap will show you that are worth understanding before you agree to them. $MOB charges 3% on every transfer, ours included, and that goes back out to holders in TAO. And the pool is young, so a large buy moves the price more than it would on a deep market. Neither is hidden and neither is a surprise if you look at the numbers the swap puts in front of you.
4. Connect, and say something
Come back to the board and connect. Connecting signs one message. It moves nothing, costs nothing, and signs no transaction: it only proves the wallet is yours.
From there you can claim a name for the standings, see which jobs are yours, and when the books are open, put one up. Your size never leaves your wallet. The only thing that moves is the fee, and you sign for that separately, every time, knowing exactly what it is.
If a wallet shows you nothing
$MOB is a Token-2022 token with a transfer fee, which is a newer standard than most wallets were built for. A few of them display it wrongly or not at all. If your balance looks wrong in the wallet but the board reads it correctly, trust the board and the chain: the board reads your balance itself, from the chain, not from whatever your wallet decided to show you.
What it costs to play
One percent of whatever size you put behind a call. Fifteen percent of that is burned by your own wallet and the rest is sent to that job’s pot, less the token’s 3% transfer tax on the way. Your size is never transferred, never held for you, and never at risk from us. The full arithmetic is in the rules.
